Hangzhou blister tray raw materials consist solely of plastic sheet, generally no more than 1.5mm thick. Common materials include PVC, PET, PP, PS, as well as flocked sheets, gilded sheets, and anti-static sheets.
PVC — the most commonly used thermoform material. Soft texture, strong flexibility, excellent moldability, available in transparent and various colors. Transparent PVC is widely used for packaging electronics, cosmetics, toys, and gifts.
PET (A-PET) — hard texture, good toughness, high strength, bright surface, eco-friendly and non-toxic, available in transparent and multiple colors. The downside is that PET is difficult to high-frequency heat-seal and is more expensive than PVC. Often chosen by customers requiring premium, eco-conscious packaging.
PS — low density (lightweight), eco-friendly and non-toxic, very good moldability but poor toughness and brittle. Cannot be made transparent, so it can only be used for tray-type thermoforming. Not suitable for recycling due to brittleness.
PP — very soft material, good flexibility, eco-friendly, non-toxic, heat-resistant. Often used for food service ware or heat-resistant product packaging. However, poor moldability, difficult to process, low surface gloss, and colors may fade during processing.
PET-G — physical properties similar to A-PET, but can be high-frequency heat-sealed. More expensive than A-PET.
Features of blister packaging: saves raw materials, lightweight, convenient transport, meets eco-friendly green packaging requirements; can package any irregular-shaped product without additional cushioning; packaged products are clearly visible, attractive, easy to sell, and suited for mechanized, automated packaging — saving labor and improving efficiency.
Benefits of blister trays: good protection, transparent and intuitive, easy to use, lightweight.
Plastics are divided into general-purpose plastics and engineering plastics, mainly distinguished by breadth of application. PE and PP are inexpensive and can be produced on many different machine types. Engineering plastics are more expensive but have much better material stability and physical properties, combining both rigidity and toughness.
